LOVE

The past one week has been eventful, to say the least.
Again, the world is united as one , to rise to the cries for help from another section of the Human Race.
Suddenly, we heard of and saw catastrophe and utter devastation unleashed upon millions of people.
Haiti has been visited with unexpected rage and raw evil !
Before Haiti , it was one evil thing or the other; happening somewhere on the earth. There have been fires , floods , earthquakes , named hurricanes (Katrina etc !), wars , drought , starvation and life threatening epidemics like AIDS/HIV, Mad Cow Disease, SARS, Blue-tongue disease,Bird flu and lately , Swine Flu!
It is gratifying to know that each time there is a calamity any where in the world, peoples of all faiths and calling receive the grace to purpose in their hearts to donate generously and to send relief to the needy.
On each occasion , people have stood up to be counted as succourers and solution -givers to people they have never met before and to people who they know cannot be expected to give anything in return .
We should give , expecting NOTHING in return.
"It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:7,8.

Thank God that people have responded swiftly by giving , generously, to the Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund. As they have done in the past for other Relief Funds.
We thank God for answered prayers and that the International Relief Team have been able to gain access to deliver much-needed rescue and relief to the needy and dying.

Apart from giving in cash and kind , prayers and praises have been offered on behalf of the people and nation of Haiti. This evil could have been worse and more wide-spread than this.
Prayers and praise must be offered , continually, to the Sovereign God , the Merciful and Omnipotent God who sees the end from the beginning.
Praying and giving is the right approach.
Millions , both within and without the Church, have given their time, money and skills as their own "little-drops" way of expressing LOVE to fellow human beings.
Here in London ,elsewhere in the U.K. and all over the world, many churches have set up Prayer - Chains , relief collection and packaging centres to dispatch Aid to Haiti.

Now is the time to stand up and be counted . Time to show love and compassion.
This is not the time to be indifferent , to apportion blame or to judge others.
We cannot say;"Hay what? Haiti? Where on God's Earth is that?"
"Another earthquake ? Whareva! What's my business? I have enough of my own problems!"
"What did they expect? The lifestyle of people in that region, is to attend church regularly and also actively practise voodoo and other forms of Satan-worship, simultaneously. God cannot be mocked. Nobody gets away with that!"

It is not the time to pontificate , to rant and rave against "sinners and generational idol-worshippers who got what they deserved from the Devil".
There will be plenty of time to preach the Truth of the Gospel which usually comes to pass; whether people like to hear it and to obey it or not.
But remember, this could have happened to anybody , anywhere; but for the Grace of God upon us.
The world will not forget Haiti as the dust settles down on this horrendous event. Reconstruction on national and personal levels will continue.
May God bless you as you pray and give, cheerfully. Amen.
