INHERITANCE

“For the meek shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace”. Psalm 37 : 11.
It is the desire of children to receive a good inheritance from their parents and ancestors .
Inheritance could be in the form of titles , properties or inherent characteristics passed on from our parents and antecedents , after their death .
The quality and extent of such inheritance could make or mar an inheritor’s present and future life .
Inheritance , also known as a legacy , heirloom or heritage are desirable if they bring wealth , peace , pleasure and glory to the inheritor.
As a recent inheritor of a good legacy , I know what joy and pride a good inheritance can bring.
But in some families , chaos , division , strife , loss and shame could be the direct results from their legacy.
The Bible says : “ A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children ; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” . Proverbs 13 : 22.
Parents cannot pass on what they do not own to their children ; and children must be the qualified recipients of the legacy; as stated by the parent.
“ .. for all the earth is mine”. Exodus 19: 5b.
God made the earth and the whole universe. Nehemiah 9:6.
Only God's chosen heirs , that is those who believe in Jesus Christ are qualified to become inheritors of HIS legacy .
The unbelievers and the profane are cut from His inheritance. John 3 :16 -18.

By His life and death , Jesus has made us heirs of God; of His salvation and His Kingdom. Galatians 4: 1- 7.
God has promised to bequeath all He owns in heaven and on earth to “ the meek”; that is his people who have been made sons and heirs by the promise in the Blood Covenant. Matthew 5:5
The Believer’s heritage from the Lord is both here on earth as the Kingdom of heaven and as our eternal heritage of the Kingdom of God .
“Giving thanks unto the Father , which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
Who had delivered us from the power of darkness , and hath translated us into the the kingdom of his dear Son.” Colossians 1:12, 13.
We possess a goodly heritage because the Kingdom of God is peaceful , glorious , full of joy and every good thing ; it rules over all and it cannot be moved .
We enter into our God-given inheritance here on earth , from the moment we believe .
For eternal life does not begin only after our passage from this earth.
“I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly”.John 9, 10.
We rejoice by Faith because the Lord Jesus Christ himself, has described the elaborate glories of our inheritance which He has prepared for every believer .
“And behold , I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega , the beginning and the end, the first and the last ”.
Revelation 22 : 12, 13.
The Spirit and the bride say , “Come , Lord Jesus !”.
