I have written a series of articles about what the Bible calls
"Evil communication" ( 1Corinthians 15:33).
They are stumbling blocks which we must leap over; and they could be persons, attitudes or thought patterns which Christians must identify and avoid , even before they trip over them and fall.
{Isaiah 57:14}.

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde , is the original title of a novella written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson that was first published in 1886.
"Jekyll and Hyde Syndrome " is a term coined to describe the rare mental condition often spuriously called "split personality", wherein within the same person there are at least two distinct personalities , for good and evil . "Jekyll" is the good , public face and "Hyde " is the secret "evil " character, all in one person.
These are characteristics adopted by a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next !
These double or multi persona usually are presented under the mask of the "good" personality of the Jekyll and Hyde character ,in order to win the victim's approval.
The Jekyll and Hyde syndrome is a disease of the mind and it is also a lifestyle, deliberately chosen by fraudulent persons with the aim of presenting evil as "good" to defraud others.
"They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper ". Isaiah 59:5.
There are fraudsters who people , easily, would sniff out a mile away , but not so with split personalities.
In the world of fraudsters,"Jekyll and Hyde" characters are a class act because of their mega shock factor!
Lies and misrepresentation are the main thread in the art of deception , so the deceiver must be expert in telling their victims what they KNOW the victims would love to hear.

In addition to sweet words, fake appearances do give the wrong impression.
Fraudulent characters are also known as "hypocrites" , "cheats", "rats" and "sham".
These characters set out to deceive by masking their evil lifestyles with false appearances of good character.

Who wouldn't be impressed by a decent first impression?
Concealment of evil by presenting false "glossy pictures " of who they are not , is therefore vital to the Jekyll and Hyde's games of deception.

When dealing with split personalities what you see is not what you get.
Success for the two-faced person is sure when their art of deception is mastered by keeping their prey in the dark about their true identities , intentions and lifestyles.

Some doctors and nurses have been exposed as serial killers of defenceless patients in their care.
Priests in whose charge young boys and girls were kept , whose duty it was to teach and nurture them and to protect them from the "wicked world"; have turned out to be wolves let loose into the midst of lambs.
Police men on the investigating teams of serious crimes have turned out to be "dirty cops" who were the real perpetrators of the crimes being investigated.
Before being elected , Politicians would stand before press cameras, beaming with smiles , spewing great oratory skills and big grammar, as they list the "wonderful poverty- alleviation projects" which they
would embark on if and when they receive the people's mandate to rule .
However , after being elected , what do these "Jekyll and Hyde " characters do with the public funds?
Charity workers and celebrity philanthropists would tell tales about how they have gone all over "Africa and Asia" to do great exploits ; how they have "saved" the poor, hungry , diseased and dying peoples there. But some of these globe-trotting helpers would not be willing to find the time to extend the same "saving hands" to the deprived , depraved and lonely people in their own countries.
They seldom spare any thought , or their time to stop and lift up that person who collapsed in the street ; to even remember for one day, to visit or phone and TALK to the millions of lonely home-bound elderly people and disabled persons who need friends and a good long chat.
Some visibly shaken and distressed husbands , wives, fathers, mothers and friends of missing persons have appeared on TV expressing their "shock and grief " , shedding tears about their missing persons; asking for witnesses and for help to find them and even joining the Police in the search for the missing persons.
Eventually, the missing persons would be found dead ; murdered and dumped somewhere and guess who did it?
No marks for guessing the right answer!
There is evil as well as good, relatively, in split personalities.
Their ability to deceive is based on using their "good" deeds to cover their evil deeds.
The " good " persona does surface and when it does it is as shocking as the evil they do!
Like these ones:
A burglar broke into a bank vault and emerged, gun blazing , throwing fists of money into the streets from his getaway car , to the amazement and delight of passers-by !
The knife-wielding thug , notorious for his short-fused temper , terrorising the public , engaging in gang wars , horrific stabbings ,violent rape of women and mugging old people for their wallets ; could suddenly, transform from a "beast" into a sweet- mannered , tame lap dog , when at home with his beloved mother or with the woman he loves!

In a split personality , the evil deeds of "Hyde" are more prominent and often remembered with anger and bitterness. The good works of the "Jekyll ",are overshadowed by the evil deeds of the "Hyde" in the same person because one hour of evil deeds could obliterate one year of good deeds.
Jekyll and Hyde characters succeed in hiding the evil aspect of their personality from total strangers , all be it for a short period.
But their multiple personalities are well-known ; can no longer be concealed from anyone who has had an encounter with them , or persons who are close to them ; who live with them , work with them and especially those in a love relationship with them.
Domestic violence is the one of the games at which split personalities are expert hypocrites .
Some husbands and wives would put up public shows of being loving and saying nice, kind words to each other. They would tell anyone who cares to listen how blissful their marriage is : "My beautiful wife is a God-sent angel!",our marriage is made-in-heaven!", "my husband is my best friend , my supporter and rock , in fact, he is my whole life!"
But what is the true situation in their homes behind their closed doors?
Shockingly ,some highly placed men and women even some Christians who should know better, are guilty of the crime of domestic violence and emotional abuse of their spouses .
The "behind-closed-doors" evils of the wife-beater or husband-basher are alarming .
More so when in public, the culprits don the faces of gentle , loving and model husbands or wives and they deny the attacks in its entirety!
Domestic violence is not only physical violence. It could also be in the form of emotional abuse which could be as damaging as the physical violence.

It could be in the form of pulling the rug from under you , which is sadistic control of the victim.
Women who have been victims of sadistic men described how these men , gradually , made the women smaller and smaller, even in the victim's own eyes.

Split personalities, secretly , are contending with serious psychological, mental and emotional challenges.
They live false lives; living in bubbles , which will burst ; usually with tragic consequences for themselves and their unsuspecting victims.They are therefore, a danger to themselves and to members of the public.
Split personalities wreck lives . They leave a trail of victims , who are shocked , shattered and wounded , some of them vow never to trust anyone again, for the rest of their lives.

For their own good and the protection of members of the public, "Jekyll and Hyde" fraudsters must not be shielded by their victims and other persons who have proof of their split personality and mental disorder .
Such sick personalities must be identified , exposed and isolated for spiritual and medical help , or for prosecution , when necessary.
The power of God is ever-present to heal and to transform the heart of the hardened fraudster.
"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."
Ezekiel 36:26.
But , before Jekyll and Hyde characters can benefit from any spiritual and medical help offered them , they must first of , be prepared to accept such help and must resolve to work towards a solution for their mental derangement and to accept the total deliverance by the Holy Spirit .
"And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them ".
Ezekiel 36:27.
